About the role:
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer position located in the Franklin, IN facility.
This position will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to support, design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems and processes for a machining value stream that has manual and CNC machining processes.
Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:
Developing, analyzing, and managing Manufacturing/machining /Assembly Projects.
Lead new technology introduction including replacing current machining process & developing new machining processes.
Working with multiple departments to ensure material flow, material availability, tooling and quality processes are implemented for successful NPI and engineering change management.
Coordinating the purchase and application of machine tools, controls, and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and economy of operations.
Providing direct supervision, coaching and development for operations technical staff and support areas.
Leading engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.
Skill Descriptors:
Decision Making and Critical Thinking- Extensive Knowledge- of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Manufacturing Equipment- Extensive Knowledge- of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update, and store them.
Manufacturing Processes- Extensive Knowledge- of existing machining processes and methods, technologies, and processes such as CNC programing experience, machine troubleshooting, and basic experience with tooling and fixturing setup/design; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
Judgment and Decision Making- Working Knowledge- of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
Lean Manufacturing- Working Knowledge- of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing such as DMAIC Lean Principles and 6 Sigma; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Manufacturing Safety- Working Knowledge- of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment, and site.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies- Working Knowledge- of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Problem Management Process - MFG- Working Knowledge- of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies, and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
