The Role:
Our Excavation Manager will lead our excavation department and the field leadership team.
They will manage resources and staff, achieve all goals, develop strong brand recognition, and maintain a positive department culture.
What You'll Do Lead the excavation department and field leadership.
Monitor staff performance to ensure that goals are met.
Show employees how their individual contributions matter to the company's success.
Communicate clearly, show recognition, and build rapport with employees.
Monitor employee engagement levels and promote a healthy work environment.
Provide insight on the annual budget, control expenses, and meet or exceed sales plans.
Ensure sufficient staff levels to meet ongoing customer demand and seasonal spikes.
Oversee excavation jobs, logistics, efficiency, field leadership, and escalated customer situations/remediation.
Lead weekly department meetings.
Proactively meet with Talent Team to go over performance opportunities and staffing needs.
Administer disciplinary action or performance improvement plans when needed.
Work with City inspectors to make sure jobs are within scope of city regulations.
Perform weekly one on one's.
Organize morning huddles with team to communicate the scope of the work going out for the day.
Shape company culture by living the values of our company.
Be available for your team via phone after hours and on the weekend (as needed).
What You'll Need 5
years of Sewer/Excavation experience (highly preferred) 3
years in a manager role.
Knowledge of local codes Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff members.
Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and a great multi-tasker with good presentation skills.
Have the ability to drive team performance to achieve all departmental goals and objectives.
